Крепость является единственной сохранившейся древней постройкой на территории современного Рустави.

Рустави (რუსთავი) - административный центр Квемо-Картли. Расположен в 25 км к юго-западу от Тбилиси.
Население - 116,4 тыс. человек
Это город, расположенный на равнине, что необычно для большинства других грузинских городов. У многих людей он ассоциируется только с малопривлекательным советским промышленным городом, без каких-либо интересных достопримечательностей. Тем не менее, история города куда более древняя, чем принято считать.
